Erlend Evensen is a Norwegian visual artist raised in Kristiansand. Evensen holds a BFA from KABK (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague) and UMPRUM (Prague). After 4 years as a fulltime professional artist, he has now begun his master's at BCA (Burren College of Art, Ireland).
Primarily focused on oil painting, he jumps from project to project through ink drawings, stop-motion animation, installations, and performance.
His art explores inner and outer worlds with an aesthetic curiosity. These worlds are tied to dreams and ideas from other times. Each has its own colors, shapes, and vibes; Magical dirty realism, occultism and psychedelia in black and white, ideas from the Middle Ages, symbolism, and modernism are all explored and intertwined like various toys in a sandbox.
