STOP-MOTION PLAYGROUND (2019)
A part cinematic part sociological project
Four stop-motion animation workshops that took place from September to November. The attempt of this experiment was to create a playful, meditative space in a different time, space and body, that of stop-motion animation. I invited friends to all animate together as a transcendental improvised experience. Inspired by musical jams, group meditations and playing with toys as children. What if a group of people would meet on another level and interact in the in microcosmos of frame by frame animation? The idea came years ago from doing a lot of stop-motion experiments and eventually short films, I wanted to try and open it up and see if you can do something different with the medium which is usually quite solitary and structured.
